Plans to graduate in Spring 2021
Gina Young loves her community of Atikokan and appreciates the opportunity to pursue her post-secondary studies online without leaving her family and community. With the support of staff at the Contact North | Contact Nord online learning centre in Atikokan, she enrolled in Confederation College’s online Pre-Health Sciences program.
“I wanted to explore a career in the medical field so I started with the Pre-Health Sciences program,” she explains. “I also started to work at the daycare and realized I wanted to work with children.”
Once she completed the Pre-Health Sciences program, she immediately registered for Confederation College’s online Early Childhood Education program. “I thought it would be more individual studies. I didn’t realize there are so many opportunities to interact with instructors and classmates.”
Gina likes going into the online learning centre to connect to her classes using Contact North | Contact Nord’s web conferencing platform. “I like it,” she shares. “It gives you a place to study, like you would at a college campus. I can get help when I need it.”
Gina plans to graduate in Spring 2021.
