Gordon Knowles enrolled in Confederation College’s online Leadership Development program with assistance from staff at the Contact North | Contact Nord online learning centre in Atikokan.
Gordon is a father of three and works in economic development. He has an undergraduate degree and a number of business certifications but was encouraged by his employer to obtain specific leadership credentials. He likes the fact Confederation College’s online professional development program offers flexibility.
“I can connect to my classes and course material from my iPad and work at my own pace,” he shares. “I like the flexibility of online learning because I can balance with my own workload and personal life.”
Some courses he simply downloads course material from the college portal and works on his own, while others he connects to his class using Contact North | Contact Nord’s web conferencing platform from his home computer. Staff at the online learning centre schedule his exams to fit his busy schedule. “It is incredibly convenient to write my exams at the online learning centre here in Atikokan,” he says.
Gordon graduated in Spring 2019 and accepted a position as General Manager for the Parry Sound Area Community Business & Development Centre.
