Plans to graduate Spring 2021
Pam Rapp was a stay-at-home mother for 10 years prior to enrolling in Northern College’s online Social Service Worker program. Through a community referral to Contact North | Contact Nord online learning centre in Sturgeon Falls, Contact North | Contact Nord helped her explore options for the online Social Service Worker program online and helped her to enrol.
“Online learning means I can be at home with my children and not have to travel to a campus, pay for daycare or find a babysitter,” says Pam. “It’s working really well.”
She connects to her classes using Contact North | Contact Nord’s web conferencing platform and when she encounters technical issues, she calls the Contact North | Contact Nord Technical Hotline. “I had to call the helpdesk a few times when I wasn’t able to log on to my class, it was something minor but they fixed it for me.”
She also writes exams at the online learning centre, only a 10-minute drive from her home. She says the coursework is challenging at times, but is really enjoying what she is learning and finds the virtual classroom an easy environment to engage with classmates and professors.
Pam plans to graduate in Spring 2021.
