Founded in 1996 by the Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN), Oshki-Wenjack is a post-secondary Indigenous institute serving the 49 First Nation communities of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation and Indigenous learners from across Ontario.

Committed to increasing access to accredited post-secondary education in 49 First Nation communities, Oshki-Wenjack is proud to provide a path to lifelong learning and stronger communities.

Students, instructors and support staff strive to create an environment that feels like home, both in the classroom and online, so Indigenous learners feel welcome at every step.

Unique education programs directly serve the workforce needs of communities, with an emphasis on giving each learner the opportunity to find their path and achieve their goals.

The governing council is composed of representatives from each of the tribal councils in the NAN territory. Staff are full-time members and faculty are contract instructors.
