Toronto Metropolitan University's G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education is Canada's foremost provider of university-based adult education. With close to 20,000 annual distance enrolments, The Chang School is also a leader in online education, offering 377 online courses, most of which are degree-credit. Fourteen of our career-focused certificate programs can be completed entirely at a distance, while 21 of them are available in a hybrid, online/in-class format.
We currently develop more than 40 new online courses a year, and our course design is consistently recognized for its quality and relevance. Chang School courses are developed based on multicultural, interdisciplinary, and interprofessional principles that allow learners to compete on the global stage. Our courses are highly interactive, allowing learners to successfully practice techniques, further develop critical thinking, link to more in-depth reference materials, and apply theory to practice.
Our online courses provide opportunities for active and critical learning, with ongoing opportunities for self-assessment and facilitation throughout the learning process. Courses relate the learner's prior knowledge and experience to new material; promote an open and positive environment that allows for social learning; allow for authentic problem-based learning that prepares learners for real world situations; and present information in a variety of ways, using rich media, where appropriate, to engage the learner's emotions.
